The whole team at Temple school is committed to providing a welcoming, attractive, and stimulating environment to support the needs and develop the learning of the children and families in the school. All areas of school life are inclusive, and the teaching is tailored toward individual learning, providing challenge and support; encouraging everyone to reach their full potential.

Our school is staffed by a team of qualified teachers, teaching assistants, speech therapists and occupational therapists. Staff provide a positive ethos to enable the children to work towards the development of ‘life skills’ and instil life-long learning aspirations for everyone through a range of activities which are fun and enjoyable. Our ELN provision ranges from subject intervention to full support.

The intervention programme involves a teaching assistant available to your child three times a week during specific subjects that require extra attention. This involves review of lessons during one-on-one or small group study periods, differentiation of activities, instruction and assessments, access arrangements for international examinations, behaviour monitoring, setting academic targets, handwriting improvement and weekly monitoring reports.

The full support programme involves a send specialist offering full time support in all subjects and developmental areas including social, emotional, and physical development. An individualised educational plan (IEP) is designed to address all developmental areas that require improvement and identifying and harnessing areas of strength. Full support also includes speech therapy, occupational therapy, one-on-one study sessions, differentiation of activities, instruction and assessments, access arrangements for international examinations, behaviour monitoring, daily reporting, and inclusion of the ASDAN programme.

ASDAN is a UK-based education charity and awarding body that provides programmes to more than 30 countries and territories across the world. Their courses equip learners to thrive in 21st Century education, work and life. Temple School SEN Department now offers all courses available of the ASDAN international platform.

These courses are geared for children and adults with a wide range of abilities and cater for multiple types of support requirements. The focus is on showing what the student CAN do and highlighting their strengths. Challenges and tasks tend to be more practical, but cover a range of topics, including maths, science, language, social science, vocational training, and life skills acquisition.
