Head of Secondary – Mrs Olumide-Aluko
We are pleased to announce a new Head of Secondary appointment, effective immediately Mrs Fadekemi Olumide-Aluko, who comes to us with an illustrious career in the education sector.
Lawyer turned passionate educator, Mrs Olumide-Aluko Is immensely passionate about the science and art of teaching and learning. She holds a distinction-graded Masters degree in International Educational Leadership and Management from The University of Leeds, UK. She is passionate about job satisfaction for educational practitioners as a means to raising the levels of professionalism, practice and dignity in the profession in Nigeria, and her research in this field has been published in the Journal of the Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration and Management UK.
She also has a distinction-graded diploma in Montessori Education from the College of Modern Montessori, Johannesburg, SA. She has a Law degree from the University of Ibadan and was called to the bar at the Nigerian Law School in Lagos in 1994. Temple School – educating the whole child!
Following an earlier career as a barrister and solicitor, she has spent twenty of her twenty-six working years building a wide range of experience in the education industry. This includes:
- Membership on Governing Boards of high performing schools;
- Lecturer and Examiner at Heritage House Teacher Training College in Yaba, Lagos;
- Lead Consultant and Head of Teacher Training at Salva Veritas Consult and The Toddler Tree Educational Consultants;
- Founding Trustee and National Secretary, Association of Montessori Educators of Nigeria;
- Head Teacher for 10 years at The Toddler Tree School, GRA Ikeja, which she founded;
- Music Teacher (including voice, theory and piano practical at secondary level);
- Elocution oral English teacher,
- Class teacher and private tutor and finally,
- Certified Mediator (from the Mediators Association of Nigeria) with a passion for mentoring and coaching teachers, parents and teenagers.
Mrs Olumide-Aluko is also an author, editor, theatre artist and poet, whose poetry has been published in the Ake Review.
Her published work includes an inspirational book for teenage girls titled ‘Pearls for my Daughter’ and a creative writing handbook for middle primary age children titled ‘Rules for Writing Champions’.
Mrs Olumide-Aluko’s guiding values are underpinned by integrity, excellence and kindness. She looks forward to getting to know all the students and parents.
